Naga was inspired by a Chinese jade pendant of the Eastern Zhou (4th - 3rd centuries A.C.). In ancient China, jade was felt to have magical qualities and dragons were powerful symbols. The jade that originally inspired this clasp was solid and carved in low relief. Our dragon is filigree making it light. Naga, which means dragon, works best on bulky knitwear worked on large needles or lace patterns with large holes. Naga swims directly through two layers of fabric to fasten them together.
